The former Helen Hayes home, Pretty Penny on North Broadway has sprouted a small wood frame building in the front yard. Will it be a holiday creche? A tree house? A refreshment stand for very tall or long-armed passersby? 

Meanwhile, Pretty Penny remains partly hidden from view behind the greenery, wooden thing, and high brick walls.
